I have two pieces of news today. First of all, my paper Mark the unexpected! about animacy and motion in comics has been officially published! You can read it here with open access: https://doi.org/10.1111/cogs.70067. I also wrote about this paper in my previous post, with links to my youtube talk and my blog post for the general public: https://anakrajinovic.com/watch-my-talk-about-mark-the-unexpected-on-youtube/.
Second, I participated as an artist in this year’s iteration of Comic Invasion Berlin (3-4 May 2025) and it was a blast! In stark contrast to last year’s edition, we had so many people (10,000 in total) that it was hard to keep up! And statistics did its job for us: Me and most artists have sold out at least some of their comics.
I would leave for a short break only to come back to an empty spot on my table: ADHD comics gone! I had to restock them every hour or so! And on the last day, 3 hours before closing, Bleeding Hearts got sold out as well. Last year most of my sales went to my friends and this year I sold all of the remaining copies I had to complete strangers. Thank you to everyone who passed by and chatted and/or bought something from me. It was a wonderful experience.
